“I found my sessions with Amy to be very encouraging and eye opening. I was able to see my child, her behavior, and parenting from new perspectives. I learned to discover the "why's" behind some of my parenting struggles. She helped me learn strategies to better connect with and care for myself and my child. I was able to uncover my own values and how to be more intentional with my parenting. Amy is kind, compassionate and present during her sessions and truly cares for her clients. I would recommend her services to anyone needing support or who would like to learn new skills to help them grow through their parenting journey."
“On top of learning to deal with my own childhood trauma, Amy has taught me and shown me that I have the tools in my toolbox to be the parent I have always wanted to be. She's always told me since the beginning that this was not about perfection, and it was not about fixing me as a mother, as a wife, or even my inner child. It was always about being exactly who I was always destine to be as a mother. She has given us a happy home where we have learned to love with patience and peace. And taught us to love the differences and things that make each of us exceptional. She has given me the keys to know how to not only process my childhood, but how to best guide my children through their own childhood and allow them to make the choices and decisions for their lives. I am so grateful for having been able to go through this program at my own pace, and in my own way to become the mom I always knew I could be. Thank you, Amy. "
"I love how I feel listened to & non-judged. I feel like I can be honest about any mistakes or set-backs that may have happened & feel proud to share any triumphant moments that have also happened. I also love the honest feedback that I get from Amy. She points out various corrective tactics to try for my behavior & offer suggestions to try for my son’s behavior... very professional and connects to me personally & makes each session comfortable like I’m talking to a best friend rather than someone I hired."
"I did not expect to gain much from your lying videos since P is not at that stage yet. But you just gave me so much clarity on my own childhood. I was constantly told that I was lying and not telling the truth even though I was absolutely trying to say what was true, at least from how I perceived it. So I never understood how I could be genuinely trying to tell the truth but still told I was dishonest. So just realizing those tendencies and expectations in my own parents and how that hurt me totally encourages me to have a different response with P. I love the validating thing! I don't think I ever really felt validated as a kid. I was always just wrong no matter how hard I tried to do the right thing. So far i think your content has been more theapeutic for me in analyzing my own upbringing and the ways I don't want that to continue in my parenting."
I can’t say enough great things about this book study I did with Amy. If you know me, you know my spicy daughter. The book helps you look at children from a different perspective and practicing peaceful parenting. You’ll learn that discipline means to teach, that most of the time the expectations we set on kids are way above their developmental capabilities, and so much more.
Amy is a wonderful coach and helped worked through challenging situations that were unique to me and my interactions with my daughter. She helped us implement a chore system and allowance and was a sounding board for my struggles in parenting but also cheered on the wins.
Definitely recommend the No Drama Discipline book study and Amy!
